REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, or recipient of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) at the time of application.

Candidates must be at least 20 years of age at the time of application and 21 years of age at the time of appointment.

Candidates must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license which is valid in the State of Connecticut.

Candidates must possess at minimum an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college, or 45 credits at the time of application and 60 credits before receipt of a conditional offer of employment, or 2 years of active U.S. military experience or equivalent (example – 2 years of certified U.S. law enforcement experience).

Candidates must possess work experience in meeting and dealing with a variety of people under varying circumstances or equivalent.

Candidates must have passed a valid written examination.

Candidates must have been fingerprinted and have had a criminal record search.
-
Candidates must have no felony, Class A or Class B misdemeanor convictions.

Candidates must have no domestic violence convictions.

Candidates must have passed a State approved background investigation.
-
Candidates must have passed a State approved psychological evaluation.
-
Candidates must have passed a medical exam including a screening for controlled substances.

Candidates must have signed a falsification of information acknowledgement statement.

Candidates must have passed at the 40th percentile, an approved physical ability examination.

A valid C.H.I.P. Physical Ability Assessment must be submitted, dated according to current hiring requirements, or provided by the stated deadline.
