Founded in 1896, the Greenwich Police Department has a long-standing tradition of service, integrity, and professionalism. Today, the department includes over 150 sworn officers serving a community of more than 63,000 residents.

Greenwich spans 67.2 square miles, including both land and water, and is located just 20 miles from New York City. Officers serve in a unique environment that includes residential neighborhoods, busy roadways, and coastal waters along the Long Island Sound.

 

Officers have access to specialized training opportunities including: Field Training Officer development, Scuba Team operations, Arson Investigation, Emergency Services Unit, Collision Reconstruction, Ice Rescue, Emergency Medical Technician certification, Computer Forensics, Mental Health First Aid, and Domestic Violence and Crisis Intervention.
